The P-Word
There is so much information about the pandemic it could cause a major migraine attack. Yet, amidst the cacophony, there is a resounding cry. It is important to stay healthy, to give one’s body a fighting chance. The health experts agree that the shadows cast by COVID-19 go beyond the physical. Our overall well-being is under attack. Now is the time to be more mindful.
TIPS:
o Staying in touch. Not seeing family and friends in person is most challenging. Video chats are not ideal, but they will have to do. We are social distancing but not apart.
o Being emotionally intelligent. The uncertainties of the current situation sometimes fill one with dread and foreboding. Tension can run high. Temper can be teetering on explosion. Self-awareness allows one to manage emotions and how to express them. Recognize that other people are probably undergoing through a similar gamut of emotions. If necessary, reach out for help. Online and telephone resources are available.
o Practicing good and consistent SHEE. Sleep Hydrate Eat Exercise. More than ever, work at nourishing mind, body and spirit. Throw in some sun rays too!
o Learning something new. Try new recipes. Be a master recycler of food and other things around the house. Enroll in online classes.
o Counting your blessings. Start each day with a grateful heart. This puts things in the right perspective.
